lyrics

The bright, white up-aboves
are falling tonight,
long trails of light
tearing the sky.

You be the moon,
and I’ll be the tide –
we can watch from both sides.

And what if we saw
the end of the line,
and there was no prize,
nothing to fight?

Would you turn away
and just let it die,
or press your hand close into mine?

The secrets we keep are a forest
and I’m headed North where the shore ends,
but the stars are all covered with branches.
If I lose my way, I’ll pretend that I planned it.

Pray for lightning strike.
Burn me open wide.
